Mutually owned organisations have a proud and remarkable heritage, and there are many active building societies, mutual insurers, and friendly societies right across the United Kingdom.
Mutual societies are owned and democratically controlled by their members, and usually aim to benefit members and/or the community. Their philosophy and purpose are as important in modern society today as they were at their inception and, with the need to heed the financial demands of external shareholders removed, societies can offer products and services to their members which have much better value.
Fletcher Jones has had the pleasure of working with many mutually owned organisations over the years and we understand the importance of cultural fit and identifying prospective candidates with a natural empathy to the principles of mutuality, in addition to having the necessary background to satisfy any regulatory scrutiny. Appointments which we have advised on include: Chair, Non-Executive Director, Chief Executive, Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Sales & Marketing / Commercial Director, and Chief Actuary.
